Sylvester Garza has a special talent and passion for headshot & portrait photography. Through his trained critical and expert eye, Garza gives special attention to body language, camera angles and elements within the scene. He creates a collaborative environment with his subjects that allow them to be comfortable and express visually who they really are. His services include art direction and the Tethered Photographic Technique (TPT), which give the advantage of an instant view of each image taken. That gives the client an opportunity to discuss and review photos and images during each photography session.

My Process

The headshots and portraits I create are the best you can get for any purpose, from social media to personal branding to acting.

To accomplish this, I like to photograph a range of looks and expressions. I shoot tethered to a computer. I provide a remote monitor placed next to the subject, which creates a collaborative photo session. The subject gets to see real-time views of the session and “learns” what looks best.   This also allows us to discuss elements including body language, hair, smile (or not😎), that can influence how others perceive you.

As I shoot tethered to a computer, we view the images along the way and minimize any phobias that the subject may have regarding being photographed. I provide Sephora blotting paper to control any shine from the Houston heat & humidity.

We review images in between rounds of shooting, which allows us to see what we are getting and to target the images we are both happy with. I want to capture the essence of who you are, without all the distractions.

After your session is over, you select your fav image or images. I then edit the image or images individually to remove minor blemishes, brighten eyes, whiten teeth and remove flyaway hairs. I then crop to suit your company specifications or your individual needs. I provide a complimentary web optimized crop for LinkedIn.

I take my studio to you and set up pro lighting & background in a conference room or common area.  I provide a remote monitor placed next to the subject, which creates a collaborative photo session. The subject gets to see real-time views of the session and “learns” what looks best.

Environmental backgrounds (out of focus, to keep the attention on the subject)  are also an option.

Image selection is made on the spot. Final selections are edited to remove minor blemishes, whiten teeth, remove redness from eyes, and remove flyaway hairs. Delivered as a high-resolution JPEG with unlimited publication and electronic use. Complimentary LinkedIn crop.
